The Descendant or “Son” of David?
Read this page in
Filipino.
Will give him one tribe...
Revealed on August 22, 2005
We have now learned that Jesus was not the first to be called to undertake
the mission. It is from the failure of Solomon that Jesus was called to take up
the unfulfilled mission of revealing or showing the Name of God to his people.
We will see if Jesus fulfilled the mission.
For us to determine the identity of the man promised (that will come from the
house of David, the "one tribe" - 1 Kings 11:13) to
continue the work of making the people know the Name of God, but first...
Why Jerusalem?
Why did God choose Jerusalem?
He took the carved Asherah pole he had made and put it in the
temple, of which the LORD had said to David and to his son Solomon, "In this
temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I
will put my Name forever.
II Kings 21:7 (NIV)
This is the
promise of God; He will place His Name on Jerusalem only.
Let us first understand the manner in which God’s prophets are identified by
their people, how are they easily recognized? Maestro Evangelista says it is in
the prophets’ names that their missions are known. From their own names they
are sent to fulfill a specific work.
Take for example, Moses, how was he named?
When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh's daughter and
he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, "I drew him out of the water."
Exodus 2:10 (NIV)
This was the
name given to him, and what was his mission for God?
And God said, "I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you
that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt,
you will worship God on this mountain."
Exodus 3:12 (NIV)
This is the mission of Moses for God, which is also the meaning of his name,
"I drew him out of the water." He is only to lead his people out of Egypt
and God actually will do the miracles. If God did not open or separate the
waters in the Red Sea to make them cross the distance, then Moses, by his name
would not have fulfilled his mission. He is not the "Moses" that was
sent to take his people out of Egypt. Since he was able to lead his people out
of Egypt by crossing the waters that God had separated, Moses fulfilled the task
or the "sign" that is also in his name.
Now, concerning the man who will come from the house of David, what was the sign
given for his people to identify him?
Then Isaiah said, "Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough
to try the patience of men? Will you try the patience of my God also?
Isaiah 7:13 (NIV)
And finally
God gave them a sign, it was a prophecy given to the House of David...
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will
be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. He will
eat curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the
right.
Isaiah 7:14-15 (NIV)
Since then, the people have been expecting the coming of the man who will
continue the unfulfilled work of Solomon. The sign that was given was specific;
to identify the man who will come from the house of David, the descendant should
be born of a virgin. Why? The sign given by God was specific, since anybody
can pretend to be a son of David, hence the sign.
The sign was for a "virgin," meaning, a young and unmarried woman, to
conceive and give birth to a son... and why will he be called "Immanuel?"
Maestro Evangelista says, if the man prophesied, who would come from the house
of David, is successful in leading his people to the Name of God; when they call
on God, that is the time that God will answer them, therefore the name
“Immanuel” (God with us) would have been fulfilled.
A condition was given, similar to the one given before to Solomon. The reason
for this is that although they (God's Anointed - the Messiah) were prophesied
and sent by God it doesn't necessarily mean that they cannot commit a mistake or
fail in their mission, as it was in the case of Solomon.
"He will eat curds and honey" meaning he will also be instructed and
reminded to follow the teaching of God, and to choose the "right" and
reject the "wrong," (meaning Satan). If he fails, the punishment
mentioned in II Samuel 7:14, "When he does wrong, I will punish
him with the rod of men, with floggings inflicted by men", will apply.
What is the significance of the sign? It had been misunderstood by the
churches and the religions and became one of their fundamental teachings: the
doctrine of the "virgin birth." To get rid of any misconception
regarding the sign, let us inquire if it was easy for a woman to conceive and
bear a child during Old Testament times? What was the law regarding the matter?
If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl's
virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father's house
and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a
disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father's
house. You must purge the evil from among you.
Deuteronomy 22:20-21 (NIV)
And what will
happen to man who defiles a virgin?
you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them
to death - the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and
the man because he violated another man's wife. You must purge the evil from
among you.
Deuteronomy 22:24 (NIV)
Very clear, the sign of the prophecy was for a woman to conceive and give
birth to a son out of marriage; she will not be found out and not be charged
before the law, meaning she will escape punishment. Considering the strict
observance of the law during their time, this was the sign of the son that the
woman will bear. To be born out of wedlock is a feat in their time.
THE BIRTH OF JESUS
Who was the young woman mentioned in the prophecy of Isaiah?
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary
was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was
found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:18 (NIV)
The young
woman was Mary, and was to be married to Joseph; before they got married she
became pregnant, meaning Joseph made love to her even before they were married.
Now, the religions preach that she was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. Let's
read about the meaning of the Holy Spirit in the Holy Bible?
THE MEANING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
What is the
true meaning of the “Holy Spirit” in the Holy Bible?
and said, "Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the
Holy Spirit spoke long ago through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who
served as guide for those who arrested Jesus -
Acts 1:16 (NIV)
It is
written the Holy Spirit spoke through the mouth of David and we read again in...
You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant,
our father David: " 'Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot
in vain?
Acts 4:25 (NIV)
Finally,
let us determine the meaning of the Holy Spirit that spoke through the mouth of
David, let us read in...
These are the last words of David: "The oracle of David son of
Jesse,
the oracle of the man exalted by the Most High, the man anointed by
The God of Jacob, Israel's singer of songs:
"The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me; his word was on my tongue.
II Samuel 23:1-2 (NIV)
Holy Spirit that spoke through the mouth of David is the Word of God or the
Commandment given to the prophets. “Spirit,” meaning “Word” that
is not seen and “Holy” because it came from God. and...
Then he said:
"Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, who with his own hand has fulfilled
what he promised with his own mouth to my father David. For he said,
1 Kings 8:15 (NIV)
and
another...
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Psalm 51:11 (NIV)
The meaning
of the Holy Spirit is simply the Word of God, and not the third person of the
trinity as the religions have assumed. We can now say that the “trinity” is a
false doctrine; there can be no more debate about this matter. It is only in
our present time that the true meaning of the "mystery" of the Holy Spirit had
been answered. What the religions still preach or say about it, is not true!
The Holy
Spirit that spoke through the mouth of David was simply God’s Word, the Word or
Instruction that is given to the prophets. Spirit, meaning "Word" - and
the reason why it is called "Holy," is that it is from God. That is why
we say the Holy Spirit is God’s Word. What God has said through his prophets
will be fulfilled.
Regarding
the meaning of Spirit in the Holy Bible...
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep,
and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Genesis 1:1-3 (NIV)
What is the
meaning of the "Spirit of God" that was on many waters?
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
Psalm 29:2-3 (NIV)
It is now
clear that the spirit that was upon many waters is the voice or Word of God, not
the “other person” of the one God. The religions have
assumed that it is God Himself in the form of the third person of the trinity
again.
Is it
really true that the Holy Spirit is the voice of God?
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
Psalm 33:6 (NIV)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep,
and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Genesis 1:1-3 (NIV)
Before God creates things, he makes a decree, and when God wants to say
something to His people He makes His decrees known through the mouth of His
prophets.
That is why
when it was said in...
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary
was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was
found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:18 (NIV)
That it was
prophesied to happen according to the prophet Isaiah. Let us continue...
Because Joseph her husband-to-be was a righteous man and did not
want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
Matthew 1:19 (NIV)
When Joseph
knew Mary was pregnant, he knew that if they were found out before marriage,
they will be put to death. He had been thinking of running away, to abandon the
woman and save his life.
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to
him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary
home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:20 (NIV)
Joseph was reminded of the prophecy that was spoken of by Isaiah - according to
the Word of God - the Holy Spirit. Meaning, it is Joseph, not the Holy Spirit
who made Mary pregnant.
What is the
mission of the son of Joseph and Mary?
She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name
Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins."
Matthew 1:21 (NIV)
Jesus was sent
to continue the mission that Solomon failed to fulfill; to save only his people
Israel, from their sin, not the Christians and...
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the
prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they
will call him Immanuel"—which means, "God with us." When Joseph woke up, he did
what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
Matthew 1:22-24 (NIV)
This is the sign of Jesus, for his people to identify him as the one sent to
continue the task of making his people know the Name of God. Is it really true
that Jesus was a descendant of David? Is it also true that his parents were not
yet married when he was born?
…to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a
descendant of David.
The virgin's name was Mary.
Luke 1:27 (NIV)
Jesus' true father is Joseph who belongs to the house of David. So if we are
to believe the teaching of the religions that Jesus is the “son of God,” then it
should be Mary who should belong to the house of David.
And:
You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give
him the name Jesus.
Luke 1:31 (NIV)
And who was
Jesus' father?
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The
Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
Luke 1:32 (NIV)
"will be
called"
- As you have read it, Jesus was only a son or a descendant of David not a real
"son of God;" he was just a man.
Is it true
that Mary was pregnant before she married Joseph?
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to
Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line
of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to
him and was expecting a child.
Luke 2:4-5 (NIV)
Thus, the story of Jesus as told by the religions is not true. From the time
Jesus was prophesied until the time of his birth, it is now very clear that
Jesus was only the son of Joseph, a descendant of David; born by a virgin,
meaning born out of wedlock.
This is the sign of the Messiah that will continue the mission of Solomon as
God had promised in I Kings 11:13; that he is the last to come
from his people, Israel; to show them the house built by Solomon, a house with
the Name of God.
Considering the prophecy in II Samuel 7:12-14
that if the descendant of David commits a wrong or an iniquity he will be
punished with the rod of men, Maestro Evangelista says Jesus was also punished
by men, what is the proof?
All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and on our
children!" Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and
handed him over to be crucified.
Matthew 27:25-26 (NIV)
He was
punished by men, what was his offense?
The Jews insisted, "We have a law, and according to that law he
must die,
because he claimed to be the Son of God."
John 19:7 (NIV)
For the last two millennia, the religions have taught us the doctrine that
Jesus died for our sins. In the Holy Bible, as it is written, this is not the
case. He was punished for pretending to be the son of God, and executed because
of it. The Jews in his time knew him better, more than the religions that came
after them. Who would you believe?
What were
the circumstances that led Jesus to assume that he was the "son of God”?
Who made him believe and pretend that he is the "son of God?" Was it
Jesus' own intention, or was he influenced by another?
